Next door, in 3 Front St, Joseph Johnson (34, b Hetton-le-hole) and his family were living. Joseph's parents were George and Jane Johnson but the family
had been in Hetton le Hole since at least 1841 Census.! BIG MISTAKE or coincidence?

Catherine Johnson is the daughter of Jane Johnson who is no longer living with her
parents Peter and Mary Johnson.
Where is Jane Johnson? I believe she married James Parkin on 19 Aug 1867 in
Houghton le Spring. They had at least seven children. In 1871 James and Jane Parkin
were living in Hetton-le-Hole with two of their children. In the 1891 Census Jane
Parkin, a widow and ‘insane inmate’, was living in the Union North House, Bishop
Wearmouth, Sunderland.
I suspect Peter Johnson died in 1875 aged 82-3 but this is not confirmed.
