1911 Census - Robert Johnson
The family (Robert, his wife and mother-in-law) moved to Stockton on the death of Robert’s elder brother George at the age of 24. George fell down
whilst working in the Grange Estate shop and subsequently died of pneumonia. Robert Johnson became a sub-postmaster at 28 Grange Avenue. Elsie
spent some time in Liverpool (Heswall) Hospital after her birth and her parents had to travel from Stockton to visit.
The two pictures on the left look to have been
taken at the same sitting (same bench) after
the family had moved to Stockton-on-Tees.
