Elizabeth Dowsett who was present in the 1871 Census and described as a 'Visitor' is still living with the family, though they have moved. Her mother Mary Ann Dowsett now seems to have moved in and could well be the mother of Henry Borer who was born in 1877, judging by the Baptism record. Some on-line sources have Henry’s mother as Mary Ann Read and Read may be Mary Ann’s maiden name but I have been unable so far to track down the correct facts. No marriage of Mary Ann and William Borer has been found. William Ledger Borer died on 3 Jun 1891 in Islington. A Mary Ann Borer died in the first quarter of 1917, also in Islington. Her age was 76 which fits in with Mary Ann Dowett’s ages on census returns.
