From the description in the OS Name Books and the 25in 1858 OS Map we can see that Water Wynd was the start of what became Nelson St. Archibald Torrance Head Mar 52 Cotton weaver Loudoun Adam Torrance Son Un 20 Cotton weaver Loudoun Andrew Torrance Son Un 18 Cotton weaver Loudoun Sarah Torrance Dau Un 16 Cotton weaver Loudoun Isabella Torrance Dau 14 Cotton weaver Loudoun Archibald Torrance Son 8 Scholar Galston Alexander Torrance Son 6 Scholar Galston Archibald’s wife Margaret is not listed. I haven’t been able to find her in Scotland Census records so there may have been a clerical error. She didn’t die until 1898.
