John Irvine & Marion Lamont The marriage of John Irvine and Marion Lamont can be found in the Kilmarnock Parish Register for 1796. Seven years later the birth record of Marion Irvine states that she was the fourth child of John and Marion Lamont. The first child was found in the Kilmarnock Parish records of 1797. He was named, as was common at the time, John Irvine, after his father. Interestingly the marriage of John and Marion is described as a ‘first’ marriage which is contradicted in the next document.
